| "It's been great fun to read. One thing that I like about it is that it's possible to skip around since there are many short chapters. I especially like your stories and tips about bargaining." Joseph S. Tokyo, Japan |

| “I'm almost finished the book. It's been my main activity this week besides shoveling snow! I'm really enjoying it. It's well-written, the chapters are a good length, the details are interesting, and you make it sound like we're travelling right there with you. But you're doing all the work! I also like how you set up what's going to happen next. I'm glad you broke the chapters down into headings, and thank you, thank you, thank you for providing maps! I was very impressed by the quality of the photos. I loved the one of the school children in Myanmar.” Leslie G. Regina, Saskatchewan |

| Every once in a while you come across a book that puts you in touch with fascinating experiences that create new vistas in your life. Around the World in 80 Travel Tales is just such a rare book. Peter Kurze’s captivating stories of his travel made me laugh, cheer and cry as I was transported across the globe. His unique writing style virtually places you in the middle of the action. I was with him on this remarkable journey. I could feel the boat shake as it moved down the Irrawady River in Myanmar, held tightly to the camel’s rope harness on a safari into India’s Thar Desert and was awed by the majesty of Mt. Dhaulagiri as we winged along the Himalayan Range. But this book provides much more than a view of distant lands – as interesting as they are. Peter captures the essence and beauty of the people he meets, sharing their charms, fears and challenges. His sensitivity to diverse cultures is a highlight of his tales. Perhaps the capstones of this remarkable book are the photographs that highlight the wonders of the beautiful sites and fascinating people. The photos truly intrigued me and I have shared them with many friends. The brilliance of sunrise from Indonesia’s Mt. Bromo, the smile of the Puppet Master in Myanamar, the Great Wall at Simitai, the Golden Temple in India, St. Catherine’s Monastery in Egypt – they all enhanced my reading experience………and, yes, for me it felt like a “living” experience. Fresh, revealing, fascinating --- this book is a “must read” for everyone who wants to know and feel the sense of mystery and charm of far off places and interesting people. This is truly an exciting book. The author has a way of finding unique experiences, sharing the thrill of unusual encounters and taking you with him on his trek around the world. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in experiencing the world through the eyes of an outstanding story teller who shares some fascinating adventures and introduces you to people and places that are very special. I would hesitate to say that I am a more interesting conversationalist as a result of reading this book. But, I can honestly say that sharing tales from this book with friends has stimulated a great deal of laughter, curiosity and thoughtful conversation. I highly recommend Around the World in 80 Travel Tales. Truly an exceptional book that provides a refreshing view of today’s world --- it is great to read and, as I have found out, makes a wonderful gift.
